May 25, Day 3

We had to get up at the crack of dawn to catch our train to Bordeaux. I still felt sick come morning time, and nearly was sick whilst trying to transport all of my luggage onto the train. Nonetheless I made it alright and was feeling quite better after the ride and once we were picked up by Johnny (I'll have a website of the place he owns, which is where we stayed, up sometime soon). It was a pretty relaxing day after we arrived at the complex. We just waited around for the other student and professor to join us. Johnny is quite the cook. He made incredible meals for us every night we were there. Not just a dinner meal, but appetizers, then a full dinner, then dessert every night. Not to mention breakfast and lunch everyday too. This days menu was as follows:
Appetizer: toasted bread with maple syrup, balsamic vinegar and olive oil with melted goat cheese
Dinner: Chicken cooked in red wine, green beans, & potatoes
Dessert: Pears poached in red wine with ice cream

Long story short, Johnny's a great cook, 3 dogs were there, we stayed in a huge 13th century monk house, and Johnny likes to make sure everyone got as much alcohol as they wanted. He is English, and I guess they do like their alcohol. Well all Europeans do. He actually loved that I love tea, and it was kind of funny when he would go around the table offering everyone drinks, then ask me if I wanted more tea. haha.

Unfortunately, much like the first night in Paris, I got no sleep again. Half of the people on this trip snore, and I kind of hate it. But it's okay because I'm doing better about it now. It still sucks though. I have to go now, we're getting ready to have another quick group meeting before dinner.

Aaaaaand I'm out. Bai.
